MMH Receives Teddy Bear Donation from St. Lawrence Hockey Teams

March 14, 2019

Massena Memorial Hospital is grateful to have received a teddy bear donation from St. Lawrence University. President of Friends of St. Lawrence University Hockey Booster Club, Phil Spadaccini, and five St. Lawrence University Women’s Hockey players traveled to MMH to deliver three large bags of stuffed animals. During the SLU Hockey games against Dartmouth and Princeton on February 16th and 23rd, the Men’s and Women’s Hockey Teams held teddy bear tosses. They decided to do some good with the teddy bears after these events, which is why Phil called MMH to extend their offer of donating the stuffed animals to the hospital. Thanks to the SLU Hockey Teams, MMH will be able to brighten even more patients’ days with the bears. Deb Cameron, RN, Medical/Surgical/ICU Director, says to the SLU Hockey Teams, “Our staff and patients are very grateful for the kind donation of teddy bears. The hospital can be an intimidating place for both young and old, so a teddy bear will certainly comfort those in need. Thank you for thinking of our patients and our hospital.”
