MMH Works with St. Joseph’s In Community Services Program

St Joseph's Treatment and Recovery Center is opening up new In Community Services located at 17 Hospital Drive, Massena. This service will allow individuals in need of Substance Use Disorder services another option. The In Community Service will offer substance use disorder assessments, referrals, and treatment options to include medication assisted treatment in the local Massena Community.
St Joseph's is pleased to be working with Massena Memorial Hospital for the space to enhance services in the local community. Robert Ross, CEO of St Joseph's states" we are extremely pleased to be able to bring services to individuals in need and not have to be tied to the constraints of offering services only in a full clinic site.  Our counselors are hopeful that they can work with other medical providers in the area to meet the needs of the community in the community in which they live, work, and raise their families.
Tina Buckley, St Joseph's Addiction Treatment & Recovery Centers, Program Director Rose Hill and Deputy Director Community Services, said, “St. Josephs, Massena Memorial Hospital Emergency Department and the Seaway Prevention Council will be working on a Peer Recovery Support program to support patients in the ED.”
In Community Services will be staffed with a Credentialed Alcohol and Substance Abuse Counselor, Laurel Jay, Receptionist Michelle Perry and Medical Director John Burnett, M.D. 
“Addiction touches a community like no other disease. We are pleased to be working with the addiction professionals at St. Josephs to bring additional focus to evaluation and treatment of patients with addiction disorders here in Massena,” said Robert G. Wolleben, MMH Chief Executive Officer. “A unique part of our relationship is the collaborative approach to responding to the MMH Emergency Department to assist in the evaluation and ultimate treatment of community members with addiction disorders. We are committed to continuing to seek ways to impact the cycle of addiction that exists in our community by working with professional like St. Josephs In Community Services Program.”
The new In Community Service will be located at 17 Hospital Drive, Bushnell Medical Office Building and is targeted to begin services on 12/18/2017.  The Hours of Operation will be Monday thru Friday 8 a.m. to 4:30 pm. With the potential for MAT( Medication Assisted Treatment) Services to be offered in the early evenings a couple of times per month.
