MMH Auxiliary Looking to Welcome New Volunteers

June 07, 2019

Barb Kennedy, Gift Shop Manager, with Jill Power, Gift Shop Volunteer

Massena Memorial Hospital’s Auxiliary is looking to expand their team and welcome new volunteers to work in the Gift Shop. MMH’s Gift Shop offers patients and visitors a unique selection of merchandise. The funds earned from Gift Shop sales allow the Auxiliary to pursue their mission of providing service to Massena Memorial Hospital, its patients and the community. The Auxiliary offers scholarship opportunities, distributes beverages to patients through the Juice Cart, makes patient gifts, provides donations for equipment upgrades, and staffs the Information Desk in the front lobby.

Barb Kennedy, Gift Shop Manager, said, “Every penny the Gift Shop brings in goes back to the hospital. I give our earnings to the Auxiliary once a month, and they use the funds to provide the scholarships, patient gifts, and equipment donations. The Auxiliary is here to support the hospital and help make it a better place in any way that we can.”

Anyone interested in volunteering in the Gift Shop and becoming a member of the MMH Auxiliary can stop into the Gift Shop for an application or access it online. Membership applications can be mailed or delivered to the hospital. If you have any questions, please call Maria Macaulay, Membership Chairperson. Maria can be reached at (315)250-2989.
