St. Lawrence Cancer Fund Gives Generous Grant to MMH
MMH Receives Generous Grant from St. Lawrence County Cancer Fund
The St. Lawrence County Cancer Fund recently awarded Massena Memorial Hospital a grant to offer the free community monthly skin screenings and educational community programs. The St. Lawrence County Cancer Fund raises money annually with their big event, the Edward I Moses Walk/Run for Life. Through the annual grant, it has enabled the hospital to bring additional education and screenings on behalf of the proceeds.
Barb Spadaccini, St. Lawrence County Cancer Fund committee member, presents Bob Wolleben, Chief Executive Officer and Tina Corcoran, Senior Director Public Relations/Planning with this year’s grant of $10,000.
Massena Memorial Hospital has been committed for many years to bring health and medical education to the community. We have done this through community seminars, screenings and campaign awareness through both advertising and formal news releases. Such as the Skin Screenings and seminars on Prostate Health and Bladder Cancer, and crediting the Edward I Moses Walk/Run for Life grant as the sponsor.
For 2015, MMH will continue offering the free Skin Screening along with community educational programs to such as Colorectal Cancer, Melanoma Skin Cancer Detection and Prevention, Men’s Health/Prostate Cancer, Women’s Health/Ovarian, Uterine and Breast Cancer; and COPD/Lung Disease.
